“I love plant life. My home is full of plants. Not all of them thriving but that’s besides the point. I knew I wanted to paint something botanical and I actually got inspired by this really cool shower curtain I found in Target. I liked how non specific the foliage was so I decided to channel that energy. The bright pink spots in the forefront was my favorite moment to paint so I brought them into other paintings of mine such as ‘Cold Stare’. They feel almost like a signature now.”
